In January when the water has frozen in SD the river below the dam at Pierre, SD is still flowing. Here is where thousands of Canadian geese congregate through the winter nights before they move to the fields to feed each day. Pete Thompson, inventor of the shackle has hunted this area since his youth. He invites Vern and Jeff to come along and do some pass shooting at giant Canadians as they leave the water to feed. These geese take off and head up and over the bluffs. This is where the guys hide and ambush the geese as they gain altitude en-route to feed. The bluffs are a challenging way to hunt geese as you will see in this show.
