DayCo Limited is a ranch well known for its trophy mule and whitetail deer. Owner CC Steen called Vern with the possibility of doing a turkey hunt with her son Dallas. Vern and Jeff decide to head out with their families and make it a sort of working spring vacation. Vern's goal was to have Dallas harvest his first trophy Tom. A blind was set up in a pasture with sage brush where the turkeys crossed and roosted during the day. a few turkeys show but Vern and Dallas pass on them. About midday a jake comes out in the field, Vern and Dallas decide to take him as long as it doesn't spook the main flock. Dallas drops him with his 223 at 150 yards. Later in the day Vern calls in the main flock, a Tom decides to be the first over the hill to check out the call and decoy; this is a trophy Tom, Dallas harvests him with a great 60 yard shot.  This is great show showing a youth making an unforgettable memory.
