This is the fourth year the Wild Dakota crew has been invited to the Minnesota to experience whitetail deer hunting. At the banquet Governor Pawlenty welcomes Vern and Dave to Minnesota . This gives Vern the opportunity to thank Gov. Pawlenty with a painting by Russ Durkson, one of the Wild Dakota artists. Minnesota is known for its whitetails as well as their hospitality. Perry Fitch our host give Vern and Dave a tour, wetting their appetite for the opening day. Dave is first to harvest a deer from a ground blind. Dave makes a great 100 yard shot up hill, the deer goes approximately 75 yards; this is Dave's first Minnesota deer.  Later Vern and Dave sit on the side of a hill while Perry does a drive. a nice buck shows on the side of the hill and Vern also makes a nice 125 yard shot up hill, the deer goes another 150 yards and collapses. When the crew find this deer its a long way back down.
