Farm ponds and stock dams are located all over South Dakota. These fisheries are often overlooked by many anglers. Today the Wild Dakota crew head to a farm pond and are met by owner Wayne Wieman who designed and built the pons. Over the years he has stocked it with bluegill and large mouth bass that have adapted well. Doug Von Eye of Birds Bucks and Berries joins the crew for this day of pan fishing. Small jigs and minnow for bluegills and artificial worms for the large mouth bass. I think these are the most fun to catch. The technique, an artificial worm on a weed-less hook. Cast as close to the reeds as you can let the worm sink giving it an occasional twitch so the bass will come out and ambush the bait - the fight is on. If the worm makes it to the bottom retrieve it and cast again. Great farm fishing, enjoy it.
