November 1st Vern, Jeff and Jason head west to Long Valley, SD for an archery hunt. Three days before opening rifle season they arrive just before dusk. They decide to put up their stands after dark so they won't disturb the deer in the area. Well before daybreak they head for their stands because deer are on the move by sunup. Jason sticks a 4 x 4 whitetail an hour after sunup but we were unable to get it on film. Jeff has deer moving around him and presents him with a number of shots, but he seems destined to only shoot vegetation. Vern has five deer move directly in-front of him but could not move to get a shot, the deer were watching him to intently. Day two around ten a.m. a buck and doe move ten yards in-front of Jason and then present themselves to Jeff. Jeff is able to make an awesome spine shot. After thanksgiving Jason and Jeff attempt to film a spot and stalk hunt. On the final two days of the hunt they are joined by Liz Conn and her father on a pursuit of a nice 5 x 5 buck. Jeff and Jason assist and film Liz on her hunt. Liz is able to put down this buck, watch and see where one of her shots lands.
