I was born in Sioux Falls on March 12 1974 at Sioux Valley (now Sanford). I am the fifth child with 3 brothers and 2 sisters. My dad introduced me to fishing at a young age, later my older brother let me tag along to fish Covell Lake, catching Bass and Pike. As I grew older I found several different types of fish like, Walleyes and Perch. Two of the most popular fish you find in the Dakotas. The more I learned about these species I came to find out that there not only exciting but challenging to catch. As I gained knowledge and experience, my once hobby turned immediately into an addiction.
About 6 years ago a friend introduced me to ice fishing. I had never tried this style of fishing, but was definitely eager give it a try. As years pass I learned how to pattern fish plus how the feeding habits differ and change throughout the seasons. One day I hope to teach my daughter, and possibly someday a son, the same things I learned from my father, brother, and my own trial and error over the years. Hopefully they will get the same enjoyment out of it that I did growing up and still do today!
